28/9/09: Summing up on Summer '09!

A big thank to all our 2009 Resident Artists and the people in Noepoli who helped making this summer a fantastic one. Doubling up on numbers from last year, Palazzo Rinaldi has seen pass through its doors professional artists from as diverse countries as Germany, United States, India, Mexico, Iran, Russia, South Africa, Portugal, Canada and of course Italy. Such feedback has been incredibly rewarding for a fully independent, family-run artists' residency such as ourselves and it can only inspire us to keep getting better and better. Travelling to Noèpoli were painters and video artists, sculptors and writers, dancers and photographers - all selected on the basis of their projects and desire to live and create in a uniquely historical and inspiring environment. It has been a summer to remember, of creativity and new friendships for all involved, also thanks to the new calendar of events ARTtractions/ ARTtrazioni, developed by Palazzo Rinaldi to further increase interaciton between our Resident Artists and the local community.

Throughout the summer, ARTtractions/ ARTtrazioni took over the streets Noepoli with end-of-residency exhibitions, workshops, screenings, visual and musical performances, site-specific installations and many more- all free and open to the public. Local audience participation proved outstanding, as was feedback from the residents themselves proving the first edition of ARTtractions a sound success. Now time to plan for next year!
