Palazzo Rinaldi is open seasonally: 2009 dates are 1st June to 30th September inclusive. We operate as an open residency: bookings and duration of stays are determined by applicant Artists and depend solely on space and availability. There is no minimum nights’ stay requirement, and a maximum stay duration of 2 weeks (14 nights). Booking for Summer 2009 is now open, as places per season are limited we recommend that you apply early.
It is essential for Applicants to have (a) a basic wish to be inspired by tranquility, nature and the local Southern Italian countryside & its heritage and (b) to be involved in a personal artistic project for the duration of their stay. Palazzo Rinaldi welcomes artists from the following disciplines:
WRITING & TRANSLATION
VISUAL ARTS (painting, sculpture, illustration, design, photography)
PERFORMING ARTS (playwriting, acting, directing)
FILM and DIGITAL MEDIA (scriptwriting, video, documentary making)
CURATORS, CRITICAL WRITERS, THEORISTS and ART EDUCATORS are also welcome to apply.

Applying for a Residency at Palazzo Rinaldi is easy. Just follow these three basic steps:
1. SEND IN YOUR APPLICATION
This is to include the following items:
1) A completed 2009 Application Form (DOWNLOADABLE/ PRINTABLE HERE) inclusive of your personal details and Statement of artistic intent, clearly and concisely outlining the Project you would like to focus on during your time at the Residency. This should include themes, theoretical background, methods, space needed, special work requirements, etc. and describe in what ways you think said project would benefit from your Residency;
2) An updated Curriculum Vitae (max 2 A4pages);
3) Clearly labelled Samples of recent work relevant to your proposed project such as written excerpts, photos, exhibition catalogues, videos, etc. Incomplete Applications will not be considered.

2. AVAILABILITY CHECK
All Applications, once checked for completeness, will be booked into the Residency on a first-come, first-served basis. Contact will be made with Applicants and bookings confirmed - or otherwise - within 7 days from receipt of Applications. In case of poor or no availability, the Management will make contact and discuss alternative dates/ options. Please ensure to include full, up to date contact details on your Application Form.
3. DEPOSIT PAYMENT
Once Palazzo Rinaldi has contacted you and confirmed the availability of your preferred dates, your Residency placement will need to be secured by a Booking Deposit of 20% of the total cost of your stay (for tariffs please visit our Artists' Residencies page). The Booking Deposit paid will be fully deducted from your final bill, payable on arrival. Deposits should be paid by Electronic Bank Transfer: bank details and coordinates will be communicated at the Booking stage.
Cancellation Policy: by booking a Residency with Palazzo Rinaldi you agree to abide by its three week cancellation policy. Should you decide to cancel your booking up until three weeks before the check-in date, we will be happy to refund your 20% Deposit in full and without penalties. However should a cancellation occur with less than three full weeks’ notice from the check-in date, Palazzo Rinaldi will be withholding the Deposit paid as refund of booking lost.
CONFIRMATION
Once your Booking Deposit has been received, you will be sent a written confirmation by email, making your Residency booking official.
