2009 Artists' Residencies

Our Summer Residencies

A Residency at Palazzo Rinaldi will provide you with the space, facilities and uninterrupted quiet time to concentrate on your creative work. Removed from the stresses and distractions of urban living, your mind and body will be able to fully soak up the sunshine, colors and flavours of the Southern Italian countryside and slowly open up to a whole new world of inspiration.

Facilities

Palazzo Rinaldi has recently been restored to its former beauty and equipped with dedicated facilities to ensure its residents a relaxing, elegant and comfortable stay. As part of your Residency, you will be provided with:

- An exquisitely appointed private bedroom in the original 1845 Palazzo Rinaldi building and use of its main, fully refurbished bathroom. The Palazzo's spacious, high ceilinged guest rooms are decorated with original period furniture and features such as wrought iron beds, oak ceiling beams and cotto baked floor tiles. Our two guest bedrooms guarantee privacy and a quiet environment to all our Resident Artists. Our Master Bedroom also comes with a breathtaking view of the Sarmento valley below. Upon request it is also possible to add a third extra bed in each room to accommodate a third resident artist in your party.

Also included:

Soft cotton bathrobe and slippers for personal use
100% cotton towels and bed sheets
Complimentary toiletries
Courtesy Tray

- Italians take their food seriously, and we take particular pride in our home made Full Traditional Breakfast which we are confident will be a highlight of your Southern Italian experience. Cooked in-house every morning and served on the panoramic terrace, our menus are made up of locally sourced, seasonal produce- organic whenever possible. Menus are developed to be nutritionally balanced and are varied regularly to ensure an interesting food experience every time. Vegetarian options are available and we are happy to cater for any particular food requirement and/or intolerances. Please let us know at the time of booking.

- Multilingual Arts Library and reading area with a wide variety of art texts and publications, armchairs and sofa. In addition, the Palazzo's outstanding antique book and magazine collection - dating back to the mid 1800s - is available for our Residents' perusal upon request free of charge. Informal discussions on Artists’ work/ topics of interest, workshops and seminars on local culture and folklore are regularly scheduled.

- A supportive, multilingual managing family with years' professional experience in the arts will be at hand to ensure you make the most of your Residency experience.

Can non-artist guests apply? Palazzo Rinaldi is primarily an artists' residence, and as such it gives priority to artists' bookings submitted by CV and Application Form.
